Chinese New Year

This year, the first day of the Chinese New Year falls on 14 February 2010. Incidentally, that's the same date as Valentine's Day.

Yes, Spring is upon us!

Beginning this weekend, I will be performing in festive events to usher in the Chinese New Year celebrations. The juggling and manipulation of fire will be featured in my performances.

Hollywood celebrities juggle too!

Last night on The Jay Leno Show, I saw Hugh Jackman - yes, that's right, he plays Wolverine in the X-men movies - juggle three fire torches in front of the "live" studio audience. It was both surprising and amusing! Jay tried to tickle Hugh too just as Hugh was preparing to juggle the flaming torches.

Wow, who knew Hugh could juggle?

And last month, also on The Jay Leno Show, I saw Matt Damon - yes, the same one you saw in the Bourne Identity movies and The Informant! - juggle three tennis balls while reciting the Declaration Of Independence. It was hilarious!

All this is very entertaining to me.

Both the superstars showed off their juggling skills on the show for the opportunity to plug their latest works. For Hugh, it was for his upcoming appearance on Sesame Street; and for Matt, it was for his latest movie, Invictus.

Coming soon...

I'm eagerly awaiting the arrival of a new set of props. When it arrives later this month I plan to unveil it in a new video clip on this blog.

Until then, I'll have to wait patiently.

Frontcrosses

After a day of rest on New Year's Day, I practised this juggling trick in my living room this morning. It's called the Frontcross. In this trick, every ball is thrown from the front to the back over the opposite shoulder and caught behind the back.

The Frontcross is more difficult than the Backcross, which I can already do. In the Backcross, every ball is thrown from behind across the opposite shoulder and caught in front.

Here's a video of what I was doing this morning.

Or watch it on YouTube:

I find the Frontcross easy to learn, but hard to master. I'm still working on it!
